Tip 21 – Cruise control and big cars and vans with huge engines, make driving in the US and Canada like playing a computer simulation in an armchair. Easy.
Tip 22 – Staying anywhere in sight of Grand Canyon is expensive.
Tip 23 – If you are travelling by car, you have more flexibility, so stay a bit further away from the landmark and the cost reduces massively.
Tip 24 – Getting to Las Vegas early might be a bit pointless as the Strip gets going later on.
Tip 25 – By driving to the Grand Canyon, you get an amazing scenic journey you would miss in a helicopter.
Tip 26 – Disregard almost everything you have heard about the Grand Canyon. You have to see it yourself first and then try to compress it into some kind of memory before giving up and going back again to remind yourself.
Tip 27 – If you arrive a the Hoover Dam just before sunset, you can see it both in daytime and lit up which would be very cool. You won’t need a jacket.
Tip 28 – Las Vegas is a busy city, even late at night and can be a little daunting when driving around it for the first time.
Tip 29 – The MGM Grand has 10 floors of free parking. It is also at the east end of the Strip, so has to be the best place to park.
Tip 30 – Las Vegas is an amazing place, but not for kids after 10pm.
